SALOMON GYPSY

Salomon Gypsy

Available in a 138, 143, 147, 151

RRP; £299.99

This board blew my mind at the board test this year. A real aggressive, super poppy and stable as hell park board for the ladies. Gone are the days of having to buy a guys board to get the response and snap of a high performance snowboard. This board will have you popping over houses and ripping up the park but if you want a board to just charge around on piste and in the powder then this little lady wont let you down either as it’s so bloody stable at high speed. The Gypsy totally slays the mountain! If you like to ride hard and party harder then this is the board for you. I’m just rambling now because I can’t big it up enough. Get one.

BATALEON FUN.KINK

Bataleon Fun.kink

Available in a 148, 151, 154, 157, 159W & 160

RRP; £299.99

If there’s one thing I hear the most from people I hook up with Bataleons is how damn fun they are to ride! And they’re not lying. Bataleon’s are a little different from other boards you might see out there as they use a rad little piece of tech called ‘Triple Base Technology’. Basically the nose and tail are divided in to three parts; left side for going left, right side for going right and centre piece for going straight on. What you get from this is all the benefits of a reverse camber (catch free, floaty powder riding) but maintaining the pop and stability of a regular camber board. The triple base is also amazing at locking you in to those box grinds and keeping you stable if you land slightly sketchy on a landing. This board has to be one of my favourites from the 2013 Bataleon line. A real fun freestyle board that is slightly softer so will have you nailing those butters in no time but still has a fair bit of pop and stability at speed. Perfect for those who want to progress at park or those looking for a fun, forgiving ride. Real nice price tag too!

ROME FACTORY ROCKER

Rome Factory Rocker

Available in a 149, 152, 155, 158 & 161

RRP; £245

It don’t get much better than this for your money! Awesome price tag for an awesome board! This bad boy will float through powder lines and have you lapping the park like a pro in no time!Eco friendly bamboo rods running under your bindings and V shaped glass stringers give this board hella good pop for your buck! The MtnPop Rocker also combines regular and reverse cambers to give you the best of both worlds creating a board that is catch-free and floaty with mega pop and snap when you need it. Rome boards can also take a beating and this little number is no exception, so if you’re hitting the dry mat, ride a lot of street or just want a board that rides amazing and is low maintenance then this is the board for you! For those of you after something a little stiffer check out the Rome Agent Rocker for a beast of an all rounder!

BURTON RESTRICTED SOCIAL

Burton Restricted Social

Available in a 142, 147 & 151

RRP; £319.99

I usually like quite aggressive boards with a bit more snap but this mid flex board was just so much fun to ride. Easily one of Burtons most popular female boards the Social is no stranger to good reviews being a winner of a Good Wood award on more than one occasion. This year Burton have stepped it up and released the Restricted Social which, for the same price, features one of my favourite pieces of snowboard tech, The Channel. If you’re not familiar with or not 100% convinced by the channel I can honestly it’s epic. It basically enhances the flex of your board creating a whole new connection between you, your board and whats going on under your feet. Despite what the haters say you can slap pretty much every brand of binding on it but I would totally recommend investing in a set of EST bindings to get the full benefit of this system. Anyway Burton so far only really have The Channel on their higher end boards so to get a board at this price with it is rad. The board itself is loose, fun, forgiving with just the right amount of pop for those girls who want to up the ante and take their skills to the next level. Again it performs well all over the mountain but I reckon those ladies who want to start getting more in to park would love it. I’d also say it’s mellow enough for those girls that want a first board that gives them a bit more scope to progress than specific entry level boards.
